Hello!
Every photographer has other photographers that they follow and try to emulate. I am no exception. Here are a couple of those photographers.
1. Michael Anthony Photography
His specialty is cinematic portraits mainly of weddings. I took a class from him a few years ago and fell in love with his editing style. While I don't aim to be him, I do use his philosophy of making the subject stand out by "burning" the background. Burning simply means reducing the exposure therefore making it darker. That's why you'll see all of my images look darker around the edges while leaving the subject perfectly exposed. This ensures that your subject stands out from the background and is the sole focus of the photo. I truly believe this is key to making a good photo great.
2. Joel Grimes Photography
Joel is more of a teacher these days. He is a master of lighting and produces some fantastic images. I have taken several courses over the last few years and he explains things in a way even I can understand. I have learned a ton and continue to learn from him. His style is similar to Michael Anthony's but I believe Joel's are darker and more moody. While that works well for some things, it's just not really my style. I like dark images but not Joel Grimes dark.
If you get the chance, take a look around their websites. Their images are absolutely stunning.
