Hello and Welcome!
I am glad you're here.
Before we even have our first conversation just know that NONE of my seniors are models, so you literally can't mess up your pictures!
It is my job as your photographer to make you look good. You don't need to have any experience to do a "good job" at your session.
I promise I will not leave you hanging with no idea of what to do next. I will always be giving some type of instruction or direction. I don't want you to think you have to know what to do.
Your ONLY job during your session is to have fun!
Here are a few other ways I will help you:
1. I want to get to know you.
-
I want to know your plans after high school, what things you like, what things you don't like. Hobbies, movies, music. Do you play a sport or perhaps a musical instrument. I will either schedule a time for us and your parents to talk in person or by phone, whichever is most convenient for you. If this is uncomfortable for you or we can't find a time that works, I will send you a questionnaire that you can fill out on your own time.
2. I will create a private Pinterest board.
-
Huh? Why? A Pinterest board will help you in several different ways. You, your parents and I can use it to exchange ideas on poses, locations or clothing options. By using this option it will give me a lot of ideas on how to make your session special and meaningful for you.
3. The day of your session we won't start out shooting right away.
-
Instead we'll all just talk a little bit. I want to know what your expectations are for the shoot, any shots that are "must haves" and any other questions you may have. I will then tell you what to expect from me, meaning how I will direct you to pose, what camera lens I am using and why I chose it for your session, etc.
4. I will direct you every step of the way.
-
No need to stress about this part. I've got you! Like I said earlier your only job is to have FUN!
5. We will also take breaks when needed.
-
When shooting outdoors I like to take pictures at different locations and different angles and sometimes it's a lot of walking and moving involved. I'm absolutely not going to tell you no you can't have a break. I want you to be as comfortable as possible.
I hope by telling you all of this it will relieve some of the anxiety you may be feeling towards having your picture made. Being a senior is stressful enough with all of the fees, banquets, scholarships, your last prom, ordering your cap and gown. Your senior portrait session should be one of the fun and exciting times during your last year.
If you're still unsure about some things that I didn't cover above, feel free to contact me anytime (literally) and I will be happy to answer your questions or concerns.
