Every one in photography has something their good at and specialize in. For me it’s sports pictures and senior portraits. For others it’s weddings and engagements and so on. But I also have one type of photography that really throws me for a loop and that is newborn photography. I can’t really pinpoint why but I think it has to do with a couple of things. Newborns can be intimidating to me because are so tiny and fragile at first. I know I have to kids and they were babies once but it’s different when they are yours. When you are dealing with someone else’s child you tend to be more reserved or at least I do anyway. The second reason is that I am just not that creative with ideas on how to pose them or what props to use. You see tons of pictures of babies in metal tubs and baskets and I just don’t know how to break away from that so I shy away from doing newborn pictures all together.
Do y’all have any ideas on how to be different in this market?
